Year 2 students show empathy

Halloween may look different for families this year due to the current circumstances. It was beautiful to witness the children demonstrating empathy for others in Year 2. In particular, during Webex there was a student who was feeling a little upset about Halloween falling during their isolation period. The children quickly picked up on the way the student was feeling and jumped in to give them ideas on how they can celebrate the holiday and still enjoy it from home. Some of the ideas they provided included, decorating the house/backyard, dressing up and having a Zoom Halloween party with friends, and having each room in the home as a family members house, for them to go around and trick or treat with each other. The student immediately felt supported by their peers. Such wonderful ideas for all students in a similar position.
