Drama Excursion - Hamlet: Prince of Skidmark

Last Wednesday afternoon the Year Eleven and Twelve Drama class went to go and see Hamlet: Prince of Skidmark. As we walked in we had no idea what to expect. That was until we saw heaps of 5-10 year olds with their parents, and a castle on stage. We followed the cast through the play as the ushers, Matt and Rich, put on the play of Hamlet, reinvented for a different audience. This classic Shakespeare play is one of tragedy, however their reinterpretation was very funny and filled with audience interaction including toilet paper and water being sprayed into the audience. All in all, it was a fun and jovial play lifting the spirits of the audience and exposing a new generation to the works of the bard. Big thanks to Ms Ross, Ms Mordy and Dr Watson for coming along as well.

Years Eight and Nine Textiles

Years Eight and Nine Textiles had Ms Vanessa Havel as a guest speaker last Thursday. Vanessa showed students an amazing array of textile fabrics and talked to them about her studies into textile conservation in Japan and Melbourne. It was fascinating!!

Mrs Duff

Congratulations to Mrs Duff who opened her exhibition ‘Garden’ at the Vancouver Arts Centre on Friday night. It is well worth going along to see the lovely work on display during October.
