P & F Newsletter

Hi everyone,

We hope everyone has enjoyed some new freedoms over this past lovely weekend and are excited about the possibilities ahead as we celebrate over a week of zeros!

Of course, like with everything else, this year has been a very unusual one for the P&F. With the many extraordinary pressures on family’s time and finances we have stepped back while things settle.

As such, while we have every intention of recommencing regular P&F meetings next (whatever form that may be in!) we will not be holding our annual AGM where thank yous are traditionally made and essential roles filled. Hopefully we can save the wine and cheese for our first in person meeting!

However in preparation for 2021 we still need many volunteers to fill roles on our team!

P&F PLANNING 2021

There are quite a few roles to be filled but a few important ones we will mention this week:

Sponsorships and Donations Coordinators

(3 people needed)

  • This role is an important one for fundraising and supporting our many events but one that can be quite flexible around your own schedule.
  • It involves sourcing sponsors for our 2 major events and donations for auctions at these events and several raffles throughout the year. It also includes setting up the online auction for our major fundraiser for which there are many systems in place to guide you through and make it easy.
  • Please note previous holders of this position have created an extensive list of contacts and supporters of our school along with letters and promotional documents that can assist and can be around to support and assist with this role.

Mother’s Day Stall (2 people needed)

  • The Mother’s Day Stall gives the children the much anticipated opportunity to shop and select a gift for their mums for Mother’s day!
  • Coordinators source and purchase in bulk 4-5 different gifts the children can select from, prepare them for the day and seek out helpers to run the stall on the day
  • Ange and Jess, who have coordinated the stall for quite a few years, are around for their final year at St James in 2021 and are happy to support a new team to take this role on. They even had well prepared for this year (until the stall was thwarted by Covid!), so have some gifts ready and waiting for next year!

P&F Team leader (1 person)

Sheleigh and Kylie would love the support of another person to share ideas as they endeavour to lead the team to have a full year of great events for our community! Having both been around for quite a few years now they know well how things are run but would love to have another team member to bounce off new, creative and efficient ideas and the support of another enthusiastic person to share the various tasks of this position. It’s such a great way to meet others throughout the whole school and make a difference in our community for all of our kids!
