PDHPE

Exercise has many benefits, not only for your physical health but also your mental health. In your brain, exercise stimulates chemicals that improve your mood and the parts of the brain responsible for memory and learning’ (Healthdirect.gov.au, 2019).

As a staff, we are continually encouraging and challenging students to take steps to be mindful of, and to improve their wellbeing. Throughout the PDHPE curriculum in Stages 4 and 5, this message is given to students and we encourage them to take time to be active each day, for at least 30 minutes (preferably 60… but hey, you’ve got to start somewhere!).

Have you had a conversation with your child recently about the amount of exercise they are participating in? Is there a way you could encourage them to be more active, or even join them in an activity and use it as a time to spend together?
