Harmony Day

Harmony Day is a celebration of cultural diversity, a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

This year our Year 11 Leadership Team worked together to create awareness and run a BBQ to celebrate this occasion. On Tuesday 21st March, the students came together to raise money to support a local multicultural organisation. Throughout the lunch, all students had the opportunity to win a free sausage by guessing the flag, leaving many scratching their heads. The atmosphere was positive and inclusive, and international songs played to create a fun vibe for all. Students were also provided an orange ribbon to represent social communication, stimulating a two-way conversation. Overall, a very successful day was had by all.
