Year 11 Term 1 Update

Celebrating success

The Year 11 students have made a fantastic start to the year and we wanted to celebrate their successes and positive behaviours. On Monday 6th March we began collating positive behaviour observations on Compass. At the end of each week a student is randomly drawn to win a $5 voucher for the canteen.

The winning student is notified by Team Leaders each Friday and there will also be a sign up on the notice board in the Amenities Building announcing our winner.

Footy tipping and sporting equipment

Year 11 Leaders are running Footy Tipping through Learning and Wellbeing classes, with the winning class receiving hot chips or pizza at the end of the season. The results of the footy tipping will be displayed each week on the notice board.

We are also organizing sporting equipment such as footballs, basketballs etc. These can be signed out from the Year 11 Team Leader office during recess and lunchtimes beginning term 2.

Work life balance

We are extremely proud of how students have settled in. The end of term 1 is a busy time with SAC’s and classwork. It is important that students find a balance between schoolwork, part time jobs and relaxation. A study schedule is important to help to ensure work is up to date and that they have time for revision. It also is a way to give them time to relax and time to spend with family and friends. We encourage students to attend extra classes if they need further clarification about their work. It is also crucial to continue to talk to their Team Leaders and/or classroom teachers if they need further guidance.

Absences

A reminder for Year 11 students to continue providing medical certificates for absences. Please speak with Your year 11 Team Leaders if you have any concerns or issues.
