Library News – World Storytelling Day

Monday 20th March was World Storytelling Day.  This special day celebrates the tradition of Oral Storytelling.  Due to Athletics Sports and staff illness Ballarat High School celebrated on Tuesday 28th March. 

Loretta shared a few stories with some home-made props to help bring them to life.  Twenty seven students from across year levels enjoyed listing to the stories while they pretended to toast marshmallows on our campfire.  Many became inspired to share their own stories, with the impromptu storytelling adding to the fun.  Everyone enjoyed hearing about each other’s family and individual adventures.  We heard about sibling rivalry, near misses, unfortunate incidents with animals and other intriguing content. 

Good to see that the art of Storytelling is alive and well at Ballarat High School. 

Our next Library event will be Star Wars day on May 4th.
