The Gilroy Giants have started the 2023 College year very well.

We welcome our newest Giants to their Pastoral Care (PC) groups. These vertical groups are an integral part of your son’s time at Marist College Ashgrove (MCA). Very few schools operate this vertical system of pastoral care the way we it is approached at MCA. The PC group offers our boys true care and knowledge that they are known and loved by their Gilroy House peers and staff. Please continue to ask your son what they do in PC time and how this time allows them to form into the young men they are when they graduate.

Our youngest Year 7s hold the older boys as genuine role models of our Marist virtues of Humility, Modesty and Simplicity in this PC time.

At our full House Assembly last week we celebrated as Gilroy House the many achievements of the boys of Gilroy House. These included but not limited to-

• MCA House Swimming Carnival Champions 2023. 
• Placement of Year 7s into Pastoral Care Groups
• Celebrating the Year 12 Formal
• Celebrating the Year 8 Pastoral Day to Mt Cootha
• Preparations for NAPLAN Years 7 and 9
• Organisation of the Lenten Period and fundraising
• House BBQ
• Head of College Tours
• Harold House Spelling Bee

We wish all our boys their very best for the NAPLAN testing, upcoming exams and culmination of the term 1 sporting program that many have committed much time and energy to.

Early next term we will again be fighting it out to find the Gilroy House Connect 4 Challenge.
