Trials for 2023 Junior Representative Teams

Trials will take place for the LGSHA junior representative teams this Sunday 12 March and the following Sunday 19 March. These teams go on to represent LGSHA at Bunbury and Narrogin carnivals and the Perth Club Champs over the next few months.

Senior clubs are to provide 3 people to run these trials to ensure that team selection remains fair and independent of bias.

The trial times, grades and senior club running the trial are:

  • 9.30am - Years Five and Six boys *Manypeaks HC to run trial
  • 9.30am - Years Five and Six girls *Vikings HC to run trial
  • 11.15am - Years Seven and Eight boys *Mt Barker HC to run trial
  • 11.15am - Years Seven and Eight girls *Spencer Park HC to run trial
  • 12.30pm - Years Nine and Ten boys *Great Southern Griffins HC to run trial
  • 12.30pm - Years Nine and Ten girls *Redbacks HC to run trial

Trials cost $5 per player and are paid at the first trial. A form will need to be filled out with contact details, birth dates etc. by parents prior to the trial.

If your child already has a commitment and cannot make it to trial, or is ill or in isolation, an email will need to be sent to do@lgshockey.asn.au prior to 9.00am Sunday. All medical information will be kept private.

Don't forget a second trial will take place on Sunday 19 March.

If your child is selected, they will be required to attend regular training leading up to the carnivals. They will be expected to play for LGSHA at each carnival and there will some costs involved for each carnival/championship event.

The LGSHA Development Officer, Dinah Gordon, will be at the trials with forms to be filled out and to collect the money.  She is happy to answer any questions you may have about these carnivals. Please have your junior player at the grounds 15 minutes before the trials start.

With the Years Eleven and Twelve Perth Club championships, the dates have been moved from April School holidays to July School Holidays - right after the schools Country Week! LGSHA will do an EOI part way through Term Two to see who is available. If the EOI is over-subscribed then we will run trials at a date closer to this comp.
