Japanese Trainee Teachers Visit to CNPS

Today, through an association with the Australian Catholic University, CNPS welcomed a group of 18 Japanese trainee teachers who are visiting Australia (Melbourne). Throughout their four weeks in Melbourne, they have taken some teacher training classes and English language classes so they were delighted to finally visit an Australian school setting in order to observe some teaching and student learning.
They were fascinated with the different teaching methods and learning styles within our (Australian) school, especially the fact that our students address staff by their first names!
As their accompanying lecturer Mr Ken’ochiri Hirose is studying Aboriginal cultures, he asked many questions about our school signage and Acknowledgements of Country which are so visually apparent around our school. He was very keen to speak with Ben and Kim about our curriculum and the progress of the CNPS RAP, which he enthusiastically shared with his visiting students.
Well done to all the classes who were observed today. Your friendliness and respect towards our visitors demonstrated our school values.
