Catholic Identity

Ms Lupa (Leader of Catholic Identity)

This week marks the 2nd week of Lent

As we reflect on Jesus’ transfiguration in the Gospel, we see a glimpse of our own conversion. We are invited to an inner change that can transform our lives completely.

The first step is to walk with the Lord. We know that this walk is not easy. We also know that God will supply our every need. Looking back over our lives, we must acknowledge that God has walked with us all this way and that he is still walking with us today.

Jesus took only a few disciples with him up the mountain but it doesn’t mean that only a few of us will experience the Lord in his glory as God’s son. We too are God’s children. We all will be changed. We may have hesitation or even become afraid of where Jesus is leading us. However, we can still say, it is good to be here with the Lord.

It is through experiences like these that we are given the strength we need to handle the challenges and difficulties of life. Jesus’ transfiguration is yet another opportunity for us to hear God’s voice calling us to be true daughters and sons of God.

As we come to “know, love, and serve the Lord,” the stronger our relationship becomes with him. The affirmation of Jesus as God’s son and the statement to listen to him challenges us to open our hearts and ears to the one who renews our lives.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION:

Then God speaks to the disciples saying ” This is my Son, whom I love; with Him, I am well and pleased. Listen to Him!”

Did you know that it is claimed that “do not be afraid appears 365 times in the bible?”
