Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday or Thursday night as we hold our parent 'Meet and Greet' sessions. These sessions are a great way for parents to discuss with the classroom teacher the important parts of their child's time at school.  This may include discussions about friendships, school work, behavioural issues, social and/or emotional issues or any topic parents think relevant to their child having a successful year.

These sessions are not a parent-teacher interview in that teachers will not be providing an update on student progress at this point.  They are really designed to hear from parents about their child/ren so we can work together to meet your child's needs wherever possible. If you haven't yet done so, please make a booking via XUNO. If that proves difficult you can always contact the office for assistance.

On Friday of this week the staff will be holding a curriculum day. As such, students will not be required at school. If you require supervision for your child, please contact TheirCare to make a booking accordingly.

On this day, we will be hosting Kathleen Baker-Brown from the Future Focused Learning organisation  as she works with teachers on building their capacity through inquiry learning.

This will be an exciting day as staff have been working on this project for some time and are now moving into a deeper level of understanding and development. Expect to hear the words or phrases: Lesson Zero, Herding Questions or Solution Fluency from your children over the coming weeks as this work translates into classroom practice.

Following the pupil free day on Friday is the Labour Day public holiday on Monday March 13. School will be closed on this day for all students and staff.  We hope you enjoy a four day mid-term break and look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday March 14.

Kind Regards,

Simon McGlade
