Respectful Relationships

Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) is a core component of the Victorian curriculum from foundation level to year 12.  The program supports our school to promote and model positive attitudes and behaviours within the community, and teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.

This term, we will showcase student learning from across all grades the eight topics of social and emotional learning:

  1. Emotional Literacy
  2. Personal Strengths
  3. Positive Coping
  4. Problem Solving
  5. Stress Management
  6. Help Seeking
  7. Gender and Identity
  8. Positive Gender Relationships

Grade 1s are very proud of their RRRR work so far this term.

Emotional Literacy in Grade 1 aims to teach students to:

  • recognise and identify their own emotions
  • describe situations that may evoke these emotions, and
  • compare their emotional responses with their peers.

By learning about their own emotions and others’ emotions, children develop their ability to empathise with others which can also assist them when forming friendships.
