Dear Parents and Carers,

THANK YOU

This is our first newsletter for Term 2 and how differently the world looks now. The past few weeks has been a time of significant change; for some of you it will make you feel anxious, others will take it in their stride. I share my deepest thanks with you all today for the commitment, care and understanding that you have brought to our community during this crisis.

Thank you for your understanding when sometimes there were no answers to give; thank you for your goodwill as we were all learning a new world, and thank you for interpreting and responding to our communication throughout last month as we prepared for home learning. I am incredibly proud of our staff teams here at South Melbourne Park and the way they have put ‘kids at the heart’. For this I, along with you am grateful.

FRIENDSHIP GARDEN COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

 I want to thank Families and Friends for initiating the Friendship Garden project.  Shortly you will receive information from both Ms Cirillo and Families and Friends regarding the details of this project and how your child can become involved.  In brief, we are asking the students to paint a rock (during their art lesson) when they return to school. These rocks will be placed in a dedicated garden bed.  I am excited about this collaborative art project and I can’t wait to see the colourful rocks; it will certainly brighten up the school and forever be a reminder of how resilient we all were during the COVID-19 period.
