Out and About the School

Our P&F is AMAZING!!

We are so grateful to our wonderful P&F committee for all their hard work and dedication to our school community and children.

This week, the P&F presented both St Mary's College and St Xavier's a cheque for $20,000 each.

St Xavier's will use the funds to update some Hall resources such as the Stage Curtain. Some funds will also be used to help keep the cost of the Year 6 excursion down.

St Xavier's Chess Tournament

On Friday 13 September, St Xavier’s held their School Chess Tournament. It was a great day with children from Year 2-6 competing.

The St Xavier's Champion was Lucas Sardinha, with 2nd place going to Archie McCormack and 3rd place to  Caitlin Guy.

A Massive thank you to Mr Heap for running the tournament.

Poetry Workshop

Earlier this month, five very lucky Yr 5 students attended a Poetry Workshop conducted by Kathryn Apel, the author of 'Too Many Friends' (UQP), 'On Track' (UQP), 'This is the Mud!' (Lothian

Hachette) and many more collections of poetry.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the students experience a creative workshop under specialist guidance.

Medication

A reminder that students are not permitted to carry any medication in their bags. If your child requires medication, it must be held at the office. The medication needs to be in its' original packaging along with dispensing instructions. This is for the safety of all students.

 Uniform

Students are free to wear their summer or winter uniform for the remainder of the Term. Please note: students must be either in their full winter or their full summer uniform. They are not to wear a mixture of both.

All students must return to school at the start of Term 4 in their full summer uniform.

Uniform Policy reminders...

Hair: Should be neat and tidy at all times and if long it must be tied back using maroon, blue or white hair ties. The Schools Advisory Council  has determined that hair length should not be less than a number 4 comb unless there is a medical reason. ( Eg head lice)

Current cuts that show fading, mohawks and long fringes etc are very cool but please save them for the holidays.
