Principals Message

Dear Parents,

We are coming to the end of the term with a bang! The school was a hive of activity yesterday. Our Infants teachers took part in the last of a series of Spelling Stars workshops with Melbourne spelling extraordinaire Chris Killey. The course started one year ago and the way spelling is being taught in our classes due to the new program is excellent, almost revolutionary!  Next term the primary teachers will begin their year long series of workshops. We hosted visitors from other schools in our Diocese and some from state schools in the northwest.

This year we have engaged the services of Nadene Kennedy from Enrich Education. Nadene is a dynamo in developing whole school improvement plans. She was here yesterday working with the leadership team and we made great headway into planning for 2020, particularly focussing on the evidence we will provide to prove our impact.

Nikki and Jed from Real Talk were also here working with Yr 4 and Yr 6. Their focus is on assisting young students in making healthy choices about relationships and life. Managing social media is a big part of the presentation. We had a good roll up of parents on Monday night to listen to Nikki’s presentation. There was good interaction, with questions and a few laughs. Thank you to the parents who were able to be there.

Every day I am grateful for the amazing work being produced by our students and staff. We are all very fortunate to be part of a school community that has high expectations, a community that  believes every child can learn and a community that values relationships as the thing that underpins everything we do.

Kind regards,

Jen

NAPLAN RESULTS

Year 3 & Year 5 Parents

Naplan results will be sent home tomorrow. Our results overall put us above the state in almost every area. Please take some time to look over the different aspects of the testing. If you need any help with interpretation or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. As it has been a long period of time since the testing, the students will have made even more progress so some parents may want to touch base with the teachers.
