Student achievements

Congratulations to the following students:

Hannah Christmann (Year 6) who received a Fred Hollows Humanity Award at Parliament House on Friday 22 November. Hannah has been recognised for making a positive difference in her community by showing compassion, integrity and kindness in her everyday life, just as Fred did.

Madeleine Ambrose (Year 6), Clare Wanandy (Year 5) and Jasmine Williams (Year 4) came first overall, first in Science and Humanities and second in Maths at the BRAINways Quest competition held at the University of Tasmania this week.

One of the most anticipated academic competition across continents, the Quest provides opportunities for creativity, problem-solving and teamwork, offering the level of challenge that foster outstanding achievement. We wish them the best of luck for the national final in December.

Livia Savage (Year 12) who had two artworks selected for the ArtRage Exhibition. Livia studied the Art Production course with a focus on digital art and media.

ArtRage is a unique and inspiring snapshot into the creative minds of talented Tasmanian students at the height of their art-making abilities. The exhibition represents more than 100 individual works from students from schools and colleges around the state studying pre-tertiary visual arts.

The exhibition will be held at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston before a second showing in Hobart in 2020.

Congratulations to the following students who are this year’s Art Award recipients:
