Principal's Message

Welcome back for the beginning of Term 2

Over the holiday break I participated in the International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Program professional development course – Building the Future in Sydney. This course allowed me to become familiar with the new Enhanced PYP which will be rolled out over the next year. Our two PYP Co-ordinators, Cheryl Reynolds and Nina Chen also attended the professional development course and completed their PYP Co-ordinator’s training. Cheryl & Nina will now work alongside our teachers to ensure that we continue to provide high quality units of inquiry across the school.

Community Support

Following the recent bombings in Sri Lanka I shared with my staff members and Mount View community our sympathy and support for those affected. The school offers it support and care and will provide counselling to students who may need support at this time.

ANZAC Day

I was so very proud of all of our students at the ANZAC Day ceremony held at school on Wednesday. The respect shown to our returned service guests was truly uplifting. The participation by our student leaders, supported by their peers, ensured that our ceremony was meaningful and poignant.

Executive Leadership

The Principal and Assistant Principals at Mount View form the Executive Leadership Team. With the start of the new term, the team now comprises Bianca Gatherum, Felicity Hall-Shulman and myself. We look forward to sharing responsibilities of school leadership and working with, and in support of, the students, staff and the community.

School Council AGM

Parents are invited to the School Council Annual General Meeting to be held on Tuesday 30th April, beginning at 7pm. Please contact the office if you would like to attend this half hour meeting so that the agenda and Annual Report can be sent to you prior to the meeting.
