Community Service Opportunity for Musicians

Do you play the violin? Have you got a spare hour to volunteer on a Saturday morning? Are you keen for a Community Service opportunity? Are you in Year 9 and looking for somewhere to complete your 20 hours of Community Service? If yes, then please keep reading!

Each Saturday morning there is a free music program at St Pauls Cathedral for Dinka/Karen children.  There are approximately 25 children who attend regularly.  Ten of them are learning guitar and the organisers are running this at a very basic level.  They have two super serious little girls who want to learn violin.   A wonderful Girton student was tutoring the girls last year and they improved and learnt a lot however they can no longer commit for this year.

They desperately need a student who is willing to be there on Saturday mornings for 45 minutes to tutor two girls in the basics of violin.  If there is a student who would like to help out with guitar lessons, that would be wonderful too.

The violin tutoring would start at 10.45 and finish at 11.30am.

If this is something you are interested in, please email Mrs Fisher ASAP as they would like to start learning immediately.
