Active Life During Lockdown

Even though the fun activities like Walk and Wheel Wednesday and ‘Learning to Ride Your Bike’ at school have paused whilst we are in lockdown, there are many ways that we can keep active.

Below is a list of activities that the students in 1JT are doing to keep active. I imagine you and your families are doing many of these things, but there may be some ideas below that you might like to try …

How some of the students in 1JT are keeping active:-

  • "Walking with my family" (Paige and Eva)
  • "Going on 10km bike rides" (Victoria)
  • "Riding on my scooter" ( Jayden and Grace)
  • "Digging holes and pulling out weeds" (Matthew)
  • "Kicking the soccer ball" (Baron)
  • "Skateboarding" (Lucas)
  • "Building a tree house with my Dad" (Grace)

Other ways to keep active are:-

  • Playing in the park
  • Kicking the football
  • Stretching
  • Yoga
  • A family dance-a-thon or dance off!
  • Shooting hoops (basketball) and practicing dribbling the ball!
  • Hitting a ball against a wall (tennis)
  • Playing table tennis if you have a table at home or be creative with the kitchen table/bench
  • Going on a treasure hunt in the neighbourhood
  • Going on a nature walk
  • Playing backyard cricket
  • Balloon volleyball inside the house!

Whatever you choose, have fun, stay safe and stay active!
