Parent Student Teacher Conferences


This semester we will run the PST Conferences over 2 sessions to maximise the number of booking options for parents/carers.

 

As per the previous Newsfeed sent last week, bookings are now open for both sessions. Parents will be able to book in with teachers across both sessions. Please ensure you only make one booking per teacher.

 

First conferences: Monday 23rd August from 2:30pm – 6pm

  • School will finish at lunchtime and period 4 will be cancelled

Second conferences: Tuesday 14th September 12 – 7pm

  • No classes will run on this day

Bookings for the first conferences will close tomorrow at 10:30am.

 

Bookings for the second conferences will stay open until Friday 10th September at 10:30am.

 

All interviews will run online using Microsoft TEAMS. Students are expected to attend the conferences along with their parents/carers.

 

For semester-based subjects (e.g. Year 8 Art, Year 9 Dance, Year 10 English etc), it is recommended that you book in with that teacher for the second session (Tuesday 14th September) as they will have had less teaching time with students than year-long subjects and there has also been the added disruption of lockdowns.

 

How to make a booking

All bookings can be made on Compass. Parents can access the PST Conference bookings from the home page of Compass. Simply click on ‘Book Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences’. Please ring the office on 9428 8955 if you experience any difficulty with the bookings.

 

Each interview will run for 5 minutes, however each booking slot is 6 minutes long. This is to allow time for teachers to ‘exit’ their completed interview and ‘enter’ their next interview. We ask that out of consideration for other families and teachers, that interviews are completed within 5 minutes.

 

Interpreters

If you need an interpreter, you can select the language required when you make your bookings. We can offer Arabic, African Languages, Vietnamese, Mandarin or Cantonese interpreters. We will arrange for an interpreter to be available for all the bookings that you make.

 

Guide for participating in conferences / Teacher links Please find attached a detailed guide explaining how to connect with teachers over Microsoft TEAMS. You will also find attached to this Newsfeed the Teacher Links that allow you to connect with your child’s teachers on the day. Please note: these links will change for the second conferences.

 

Phone-in option

If you do not have access to a device, there is also a ‘phone in’ option. You will be able to speak with the participants in the meeting, but you won’t have the video function. All you need to do is phone +61 2 7208 4737. You will then be asked for the Conference ID code which is next to the Teacher link (see attachment). Some teachers are part-time and have limited availability. The number of available slots will therefore be fewer.
