Boarding’s Got Talent – Mini Olympics

Sunday night, 8 August, was the closing ceremony at the Tokyo Olympics and so boarding also had their Olympics celebration. The night was a competition between the four boarding houses, with each house divided into two teams. There was an explosion of colour and sparkles, as each house competed for the “Best Dressed” award and then achieved additional points for teamwork.

The events of the night included, completing a large puzzle map of Australia, hoop and ball relay, Leaderball and giant soccer. After a round robin competing in these areas, the houses joined together to compete in tug of war and tunnel ball. There was much hilarity, as Endeavour House with the Years Seven to Nine girls were the overall winners of tug of war, beating the senior boys in Eclipse in the final match. They definitely proved that 22 small hands and big hearts can beat 14 bulky senior boys. At the end of the evening the winning house was Endeavour, and they took home the boarding trophy and chocolates. They also have a pizza dinner to look forward to, in the near future. Thank you to all the students who competed throughout the evening and the staff who helped run the events. Enjoy the photos.
