Middle School

Charity Fundraiser

Last term the Middle School held a Mini Fair at lunch time on 23 June. This event was full of stalls and games and allowed us to raise $664 for the organisation of our choice. We came together as leaders and decided to buy toys and books for children in need. So we investigated the places around the Great Southern that we could donate to and then contacted the Women’s Shelter in Albany. They said that would be very helpful. So this term, during Values and Christian Service, the Middle School leaders headed into town to buy the gifts. We had fun picking out books from Paperbark Merchants and gifts from Toy World.

On Monday, during the Middle and Senior School assembly, Carol from Anglicare and the person in charge of the women’s shelter, Es-mare, came to answer a few questions on their organisation. They talked to us about all the different things Anglicare can help with and what they do for the community. Turns out they are very reliant on donations made to them. Hopefully, the kids will love these presents and they will bring some light into their world when times are tough.
