Year 7

Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed,

for the Lord your God is with you

wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

One of the most important qualities in those who have a high level of wellbeing is resilience. Resilience is a resource that our Year 7 students can draw upon during challenges and difficult times, and resilience is also built up also during these times. Of course, we find ourselves again amidst the challenge of a COVID–enforced lockdown and remote learning, an experience that has presented us with plenty of challenges to our resilience.

There are a few ways that our Year 7 students can make this experience more tolerable, and maintain their wellbeing:

  • Stay connected – with family and friends
  • Be kind to yourself – if things seem really difficult, it’s because they are, so take a break
  • Get plenty of exercise – a walk with a friend or walking the dog can make everything seem better, and helps you to sleep better
  • Turn the screen off – learning on a laptop is exhausting, so turn it off whenever you can
  • Turn your camera on during class – this will help you to stay connected with your classmates and your teacher, and will improve your learning

More information about support during home learning can be found at via Kids Help Line HERE and via Headspace HERE.
