Whilst the past two years have brought many challenges, these times have also provided us with opportunities for personal growth. It can be easy to focus on the difficulties and forget to bask in the blessings that this season has brought. 

 

I encourage you to consider some of the positives about remote learning, as described in the extract below:

VCAL Showcase - Rescheduled

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have rescheduled the VCAL Showcase for our Senior VCAL students. The VCAL Showcase will now take place on Tuesday 14 September at 7.00pm. 

 

This event will be live streamed via ZOOM LINK HEREfor families to hear from the Senior VCAL Students. All community members are welcome to join us for this event. We look forward to sharing the evening with you.

 

VCE Online Revision Lectures

From 27 September to 1 October, ATAR Notes is running live-streamed revision lectures for Years 9 to 12 students in Victoria. These lectures are free. Sessions are delivered by high-achieving graduates. Participants can ask questions live throughout the lectures, getting immediate responses through our Q&A system. Recordings of lectures will be made available to those who register for you to re-watch at any time, and you can download the slides to assist with revision. There is a wide range of sessions available over the course of the week with lectures ranging from subject and topic specific sessions, to information sessions regarding university as well as support sessions for parents.

General Achievement Test (GAT) – 

Tuesday 5 October

A new date for the GAT has been set by the VCAA. The GAT is now scheduled for Tuesday 5 October from 10.00am to 1.15pm. Whilst the date has changed, all other information that has been communicated to students and families regarding the GAT remains the same. Seating plans will be sent to students in the days leading up to the GAT.

 

Year 12 Information Evening 

On Thursday 9 September at 7pm we will be conducting a Year 12 Information Evening. This evening is designed for Year 12 students and parents (and any Year 11 student studying a Unit 3/4 subject). The evening will provide families with information regarding trial examinations, the GAT, the Consideration of Education Disadvantage (CED) process and end of year examinations. We will update you on further details about this event soon and look forward to your attendance on this night.

 

VCE Unit 3 & 4 Trial Examinations 

It has been necessary to make some changes to the planned Trial Examinations that were set to take place in the second week of the school holidays. Due to continued restrictions in place, the decision has been made to have trial exams completed asynchronously at home during the second week of the holidays. More details regarding this will be communicated to families next week.
