Feast of the Assumption

On Sunday, we come together in prayer to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, when Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken up into the glory of heaven.

God chose Mary to be the mother of his son, Jesus. Mary was special because she was born without sin. She was ready to do whatever God asked of her and to live a life full of love and goodness.

Because Mary was so special, she was taken up body and soul together to be with Jesus in heaven. Because of her sinless life and her great love for God, Mary was named the queen of heaven.

Sacrament of the First Eucharist

On Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August students from St Anne’s were fortunate to be able to celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist. Although we were limited in the number of people that were able to attend and were unable to extend an invite to our parishioners, the celebration was both reverent and joyous. My congratulations goes out to the families for preparing their children and to the First Eucharist students. May they grow ever closer to Christ through this Sacrament.

Unfortunately due to lockdown we will again have to postpone the Sacrament of First Eucharist that was intended to take place on Saturday 28th August 5:30pm and Sunday 29th August 10:30am.

The lockdown has had a flow on effect as the other Parish Schools have not been able to celebrate any of their Sacraments over the last few weeks.

However, the school and Parish are maintaining communication and continue to work on alternate arrangements. As soon as we have a clearer idea of possible dates in which we can celebrate this Sacrament we will inform you.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Parent Only Registration and Information Sessions for the Sacrament of Confirmation

Unfortunately due to the extension of lockdown the Registration and Information Sessions for Confirmation, that had been postponed until Tuesday 24th & Wednesday 25th August will now have to be cancelled.

However, the school and Parish are maintaining communication and continue to work on alternate arrangements to move forward with Registration. As soon as we have a clearer idea of how we will proceed with Registration we will inform you.

Religion in the Classroom

On Friday during our first day of Remote Learning the Year 2 classes were looking at the Hail Mary. A very special prayer in our church that celebrates Mary, the Mother of Jesus. They were challenged to respond creatively through the Arts (such as dance, performance and drawing) the importance of this Catholic prayer. These are just a few students of the creative responses by the students in Year 2.
