Diocesan Winter Trials

Good luck to our students who are attending the Polding Winter Trials in Bathurst on Friday. They have been selected into the Armidale Diocesan team for their respective sports: 11years League - Dan Bell, Caylin Swadling; Open League - Koby Maddigan, Waisea; Netball - Emi Whan, Matilda Butcher; Soccer - Oliva Selig, Makayde Goldman, Sophie Lutvey, Kendall Baker, Max McLennan, Will Browett, Evan Burgess. We wish you all a safe trip.

 

Diocesan Touch Trials

Congratulations to our Year 6 students who were selected into the Armidale Diocesan team for touch late last term – Evan Burgess, Olivia Selig, Makayde Goldman, Noah Grob, Fergus Roger and Sophie Lutvey. They will compete in Port Macquarie later in the term on 28 May.

 

School Cross Country

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the school Cross Country at the end of last term. Thank you to our family and friends for coming and supporting the children. All of the children tried their best.

The following students came first, second and third respectively: 8/9yrs Fletcher Andrews, Digby Rogers, Jack Sweeney, Ruby Selig, Lacey Taylor, Georgie Moore; 10yrs Kane Cameron, Luke Readett, Flynn Brien-Ellis, Bau Wolfenden Woods, Demi Goldman, Katelyn Orchard ; 11yrs Darcy Oaks, Jonah Moore, Aidan Woodward, Florence Black, Sophie Neppl, Isabelle Schneider; 12yrs Dustin Uebergang, Cody Uebergang, Waisea Lalanabaravi,  Hannah Sanderson, Emi Whan, Matilda Butcher.

Congratulations to our Year 2 students who also participated on the day. The following were the first 3 place-getters: Liam Guest, Fergus Lea, Elliot Schwartz, Millie Dyer-Cleal, Kate Parella, Callie O'Connor.

 

Students in the top 6 places from Year 3-6 are eligible to go to the Diocesan Cross Country in Barraba on 7 May. Notes went home yesterday. If your child is unable to attend please let Mrs Dal Santo know ASAP. All notes and levy money ($8) needs to be returned by Friday 30 April. 

 

Primary Sport

The Primary will participate in class sport for the next 3 weeks. They will then begin Athletics rotations in preparation for the school Carnival in Weeks 9 & 10.

 

Kindergarten King Fit

As part of their sports program in Term 2, children in Kindergarten will be starting sessions with Nick King this Friday, 23 April. At the centre they will work on strength, balance and locomotion activities. Cost is $3.00 each week. Please pay your child’s classroom teacher on a weekly basis. They will go for 4 weeks over the term. Students will be transported by bus to and from the centre.

Winter sports begin this week with students choosing from one of the following options: rugby league, soccer, netball, league tag, basketball, tennis ($2.00/week).

Diocesan Cross Country and Tennis

Good luck to all students who are going to Gunnedah on Thursday for the Diocesan Cross Country and Tennis. A reminder students need to be at the Inverell Tourist Information Centre at 5:50am to leave at 6:00am.

 

Bill Turner Cup and Bill Turner Trophy Soccer Matches

The boys and girls soccer teams played their first round matches last term. The girls travelled to Armidale and played a very strong Armidale Secondary College team going down 14-0. The boys played Tenterfield High School in Tenterfield and came away with a 3-1 victory.

Well done to all players involved. Good luck to the boys team who now play the winner of Macintyre High School and Glen Innes High School early this term.
