Happy Easter and welcome to Term 2!

Easter is a great reminder that Christ died and rose from the dead for each one of us. His death and resurrection can transform our lives as we endeavour to live lives that know the freedom of goodness – lives that have love for our neighbour, lives that respect all creation, lives that restore hope and mercy.

Easter Prayer

Lord, the resurrection of Your Son has given us new life and renewed hope. Help us to live as new people in pursuit of the Christian ideal.

Grant us wisdom to know what we must do,

the will to want to do it,

the courage to undertake it,

the perseverance to continue to do it, and the strength to complete it.

Amen.

ANZAC Day

Sunday, 25 April is ANZAC Day. The school will commemorate ANZAC Day this Friday during our assemblies. Anzac day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day on which we remember Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirit of Anzac, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity.

Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation has been confirmed by Bishop Kennedy as being on Saturday, 29 May at 4pm. On Friday, 28 May, Bishop will meet with all the candidates at Sacred Heart Church. At this time we will also have a practise with the students about some of the formalities of the Mass.

Please remember to return the Confirmation Information form with $5 to your child's classroom teacher. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Year 8 Mass

Year 8 will lead and celebrate the first Mass for the term next Friday, 9:15am at SHC. Family members and friends are welcome to attend.
