Principal’s Message
Mr Nick Baird
Dear Parents and Carers,
A huge thank you to all our families that were able to join us for the Working Bee yesterday! We were blown away by the number of people able to give up a couple of hours on their Sunday to help us with a number of jobs around the school. The school grounds are looking fantastic and we were able to get some much needed cleaning and clearing out of different spaces around the school.
Staffing Announcement
Mr Wayne Martin will be taking extended leave at the conclusion of this term. Wayne has been in charge of maintenance at Sacred Heart for many years and we have been very fortunate to have such a committed member of our school community. We will have an opportunity to formally farewell Wayne as a whole school community next term.
As one young person put it this morning - Week 10 is finally here! We have a number of activities this week at school as we round out the first term of the school year.
Today, the Term 1 Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held. Please check in at the front office for your meeting and Robyn and Karen will be able to point you in the right direction for your interview space.
On Thursday, all students are invited to wear mufti clothes for a gold coin donation to Project Compassion. All Project Compassion boxes must also be returned by Wednesday at the latest. We also have our Easter Hat Parade at 10.30am in the COLA which will be followed by an Easter Egg hunt on the back oval and a Family Picnic. All families are very welcome to bring along a picnic morning tea and to share some time together as a school community. On Thursday afternoon, the Term 1 Disco will be held at 1.30pm. The PTF will be selling drinks and lollies at this disco so children are welcome to bring in some money to spend (no more than $5 please.)
I am lucky enough to be travelling to Sydney tomorrow as the Polding Swimming Manager and to cheer on our PP5 Relay team. Mrs Fenton will take the reigns of the school while I am away.
A special mention to Mrs Leah Rees who celebrates her Birthday (age withheld!) on the 14th of April and Steven McRae who turns 11 on the 16th of April.
Term 2 commences for staff and students on Monday 19 April. I hope all our families have a wonderful holiday break and a restful Easter with loved ones.
