Celebrating Achievement

On Sunday the 14th March, Ethan Stingel competed in the Zone 1 Finals of the Lions’ Youth of the Year Quest and won the Public Speaking Section of the competition. Congratulations, Ethan!

Congratulations to Ngaire Ross (12 - 14yrs), and Kent Ward and Ikko Furusawa (14 - 18yrs) who recently competed in the Queensland School Sport Baseball State Championships held in Brisbane. All three St Mary's students were excellent ambassadors for their school and represented Peninsula proudly.

Congratulations to Piper Devine, Year 9, who completed at the Queensland Athletics State Titles recently. She achieved 4 PB’s, a silver medal and has qualified on times for Nationals.  Amazing results, congratulations Piper!

St Mary’s alumni, Brady Ireland (Alumni), visited the College on Monday 29th March to talk to the senior drama students about working in theatre. It was great to welcome Brady back - the students gained a great deal from his industry insight.

Congratulations to Orlando Geary (Year 8) who was selected to represent Cairns in the U14 Marlins basketball team and the Patty Mills Indigenous Basketball Association for the Far North Region!

Orlando and his team won every game in last week’s Nth Qld Tournament. They will now play in Townsville and Mackay in the coming months, and Toowoomba early July to compete in the U14 State Championships.

Orlando has been playing in the Indigenous Basketball Tournament in Cairns over the last 8 weeks and has been selected to represent North Queensland in the upcoming Nations on the Gold Coast.

To top it all off, last night Orlando won the overall male MVP for the Far Northern region.

Amazing achievements, Orlando. We are so proud of you!

St Mary's very own referee superstar!

Congratulations to Bree Lo Grande (Alumni and Teacher)  on her selection to referee at the 2021 Touch Football State of Origin Series!
