Family School Partnership...

Friday Cuppa Club:

On a Friday morning we are opening the canteen and serving tea and coffee from 8:30am until 9am. We are encouraging parents to come into the school, drop the children off and stay for a cuppa and a chat. At this stage we are hoping that this will run most Fridays.

Building parent connection is so important. Meeting other parents is good for your well being and it offers a chance to build new friendships and opportunities. Your children will come home and talk of other children in their class and future chances for catch ups, birthday parties or play dates are made so much easier when you know the other child's family. Raising children is not a solo activity. You need to find your tribe and I am a huge supporter in the saying that “It takes a village to raise a child.” The above picture is your village.

Whilst I will be running this cuppa most Fridays, I am also looking for some parents to step in and help me. Everything is in the canteen ready to go and all you need to do is boil the kettle. We have a fantastic coffee machine that we could use for this weekly event but I don't drink coffee and I think it might be best if I find some budding baristas from our community that might be able to assist me. Please chat to me if you're interested and we can organise some training and a very simple roster. I would also maintain that you make these coffees then you would be the most popular person at school!

Please come along if you are free and we would love to see you there. Family Fun Fridays are now happening in the Prep and 1/2 communities and some weeks I will be involved in the classroom so we will adjust our timetable for a cuppa as needed.
