Principal's Message

Dear Parents,
Congratulations to Luke Hewitt, Megan Williams, Ebony Jenkin, Peter Whyte, Matt DeMarte and all staff who attended the wonderful Year 3 Eucharist night last Wednesday. This was such a special event where we highlighted the Sacrament of Eucharist through a lived experience of gathering around the table together to share a meal, pray and remember the Last Supper where Jesus gathered with his disciples. It was just a great example of the strength of the relationships in our community. Thank you to all of our Year 3 families who attended on the night
Congratulations to Lisa Renfrey and the House Leaders for a wonderful St Joseph's Day last Friday. The house spirit activities and the disco provided a great chance to celebrate all that is happening at St Joseph’s. It is most important we take the time to celebrate our wonderful school on our feast day. St Joseph is our special patron saint of our school. This year Pope Francis highlighted the 2021 year of Joseph- a time for us to really reflect on who Joseph was and what an amazing support he was and always is for us all.
Congratulations to the following students who represented our school at the recent Zone swimming competition- Koby, Bodhi, Zac, Ellina, Daniel & Robert. We congratulate Daniel who will now go on to compete at the next level. What a brilliant achievement!
Just a reminder we finish for the end of term Next Tuesday at 3.15pm. We will have our end of term assembly and Holy Week story commencing at 2.15pm. This will also include our St. Joseph’s Spirit awards.
Wednesday 30th March and Thursday 1st April are pupil free days. Staff will be attending a conference where we will work on our theme "A pathway of peace through a culture of care.”
Term 2 commences on Monday 19th April.
Our theme for week 8 and 9 is Positivity, highlighting positive self talk and gratitude.
Yours In Partnership,
Gab Espenschied
Daily Reading
Read to your child every day! It makes the world of difference to their success in life and you will make moments matter as you sit, snuggle, explore, talk and learn together.
One can not underestimate the value of reading. Reading is important as it helps everyone grow mentally, emotionally, cognitively and psychologically. Every book gives you an opportunity to learn new things and explore new ideas. By reading every day you expand your understanding of the world around you broadening perspective, building vocabulary, increasing brain capacity and making important connections.
At St. Joseph’s it is an expectation that every child reads every night and gets their diary signed. Please make this a high priority in 2021 as we strive to make moments matter together. If you can not do this please let us know so we can support you and assist in making sure your child reads every day.
