Top Class Excursion

Curtains rise again in Melbourne, as the state’s top VCE Drama and Theatre Students share their solo and monologue performance exam in the iconic Playhouse Theatre at Arts Centre Melbourne.

All students involved in the Top Class Drama and Theatre Studies concerts received full marks for their examination and were selected to audition for the prestigious showcase.

Among the performers, Viewbank 2020 graduate, Epiphany Kiriakidis, tread the boards and wowed the state with her performance called “The Eco Warrior”.  Her performance skills shined on the stage to rave reviews! VCE Drama Chief Assessor, Bromwyn Egan, highlighted that her solo performance was a spectacular example of how to show a story using an actor’s skills in sound and movement, rather than telling the audience the story using dialogue – a difficult skill to master!

The 2021 VCE Theatre Studies class were privileged to hear from the chief assessor of Theatre Studies and see 12 outstanding examples on how to tackle the daunting monologue examination later this year. A truly Top Class day!
