Create-a-Cake

Year 8 electives

Create-a-cake is a Year 8 elective where students use their innovation to create and promote cakes through showcase to the wider school community. In this unit students learn through “FUTURE FOCUS” outcomes through flexible learning to develop and prepare students to be ready for the future work skills in their life outside the classroom.

This unit is student driven with teachers as a guide and to enhance the students' creativity and deliverance into a successful and marketable product. Through this unit students develop an understanding how to research, plan, create and implement their ideas and overcome any obstacles that may prevent these from being a success. The students are given chance to evaluate their first showcase and how to improve their second showcase.
