What a wonderful way to end the term with a celebration and recognition of learning at our assemblies. We had extremely successful Parent Teacher Interviews on Tuesday evening and if any of you got to enjoy our Early Years Art Show I am sure you were as blown away by the standard as I was. I sincerely thank Clare and her family for giving up a weekend to set up the COLA space so that our community could enjoy the brilliant array of student work in the visual and media arts. With this Art show backing on to our amazing Wakikiri performance last week at the Palais Theatre I can safely say our Arts Team are highlighting the joy of all things visual and dance across Primary and Secondary sectors.

We have hosted many school tours this term and I would like to thank the parent community for endorsing our school as one of choice for 2020. The feedback has been extremely positive and we are excited to welcome a terrific number of new families into our school next year. We are still happily running individual tours while preparing for 2020 transition into Prep and Year 7. If you have not yet arranged your Prep enrolment for next year I would encourage you to get your forms and details in to the office so that your child doesn’t miss any of the transition programs that will begin early next term.

We sometimes wonder why we are so tired at the end of the term so I thought I would remind you all of a few activities and events that occurred across The Lakes this term. There are SO many extra-curricular opportunities for our students that are planned and prepared to support student learning. Make sure you keep your eye out for these events via Sentral or email and encourage your child to participate and attend. Remember, if your child  doesn’t participate, i'ts business as usual at school, it is not a “day off.”

It’s always great to reflect and remember the many opportunities and experiences we enjoy at school. These help build wonderful memories and add to students' life skills and knowledge. I hope you are able to create more memories over the holiday break, I will certainly make a few with some lazy pyjama days included!

I wish you great joy and thank you for your support and positivity over the term. Rest and keep safe.

Cheers Chris
