Mathematics at St James

Term 2 will see the launch of some exciting mathematical initiatives to engage both students and families.

If you have purchased a Blue Maths Bag at some point during your time at the school and also if it is not already at school, now is the time to locate the bag, label it and send it to school to begin next term.

As part of a new initiative in Mathematics, during the holidays I invite all students to participate in a fun maths task.  You will need a device to take a photo showing the most interesting use of numbers in our environment.

Once you have your photo, email it to deputyprincipal@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au        

In the subject title write: Attn Miss Corio Photo Maths Task 1

Only one entry per student.

Beneath your photo in the email include the following information;

Name, Grade and Age

Where the photo was taken

Why you think your photo shows the most interesting use of numbers

Give your photo a name

Only one entry per grade will be chosen to be part of something new at St James.

Entries to the Photo Maths Task 1 close on Tuesday 23rd April.
