Year 12 Literature

On Wednesday, 27th February, the year 12 Literature class got to experience Shakespeare live by attending the Australian Shakespeare Company’s production of Twelfth Night at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Not only was this an invaluable study opportunity that helped consolidate the learning that was happening in the classroom, it was also a very funny and engaging performance that was enjoyed by all.

Year 7 1:1 iPad Program Update

2019 saw the implementation of our new 1:1 iPad Program for year 7 students. During the first 2 weeks of term all students took part in an iPad unboxing and induction session with eLearning Instructional Practice Leader, Ms. Cagliarini, their classroom teacher and IT Technicians. Students received their devices and practiced being safe, ethical and responsible users of this digital technology and the internet while they worked through logging in and finding their way around the school network environment.

In preparation for the introduction of the iPad program, teachers participated in professional learning and are receiving ongoing support from our eLearning Coach and our Apple Professional Learning Specialist.

Teachers are loving the use of the Showbie app which is improving classroom workflow, enabling them to easily provide materials to students who in turn can submit work back to the teacher and receive quick, individualised feedback.

Learning in year 7 classrooms has had a buzz of excitement with the use of iPads adding an additional layer of engagement. Teachers in all year 7 subjects are integrating the use of iPads for a wide range of learning activities and the feedback from students is very positive.
