Career Room

Students will have various opportunities throughout 2019 to explore university, TAFE and apprenticeship pathways, giving student insights into their careers of choice.

The first of these opportunities took place with a group of students from Years 10-12 from both Melton Secondary College and CRC Melton attending Melbourne University on 20th February. The students took part in a campus tour and explored  Melbourne University courses and student services through their interaction with current students.

Melton Secondary College would like to thank the University of Melbourne for providing this opportunity to secondary colleges in the City of Melton.

Year 12 student Tahlia Medley , through her Western Chances Scholarship, was invited to attended Trinity College at Melbourne University last December. Below is Tahlia’s summary of her experience:

“During the Young Leaders Program, I attended the Psychology stream. I am, and will forever be, grateful for the amazing opportunity to attend such a prestigious program. My week at Trinity College was nothing short of amazing. From talking to lecturers who specialize in the subject I hope to one day study at university, to meeting people from all over the world, I will never forget Trinity College. I was able to further understand what it means to have a Psychology Degree, and how Melbourne University works and how it supports their students. But most of all, my personal development skyrocketed, and I got to learn things about myself that I wouldn’t have otherwise had the opportunity to learn. I would highly recommend the Young Leaders Program at Trinity College to all students, from all walks of life; I truly believe that there is no other place like it.”
