Year 12 Plant Production

The Year 12 Plant Production System ATAR students wanted to brighten up the Class area and arranged for a large trough to be utilised as a planter box. This allowed for the ATARs to plant all their seedlings they have been growing last term from seed, so the beetroot, chillies, basil and onions are now on display.  The ATARs have had a few students away last week so we were left with Casey Cole and Josie Curtis to design the planting.  A T A R was the design and the girls did a great job!

The Year 12 General Plant Production students participated in an Ecology and Sustainability Farm Audit at Horticulture and Beef sections on Wednesday.  Students took notes and photos, obtained water samples from Harvey Water and the creek at Beef, conducted moisture meter readings and observed areas on our Farm where land degradation is present.

Students spoke to Matt Olde from Horticulture, where they obtained further information about ways to maintain and improve areas of concern to keep our farm sustainable.  The students will write up their Farm Audit next Wednesday in Week 6.

Year 10 Science

Students performed a practical investigation examining newtons laws of motion by changing the mass of a vehicle or the incline slope.  They had to determine if this changes the stopping distance and time of said vehicle.

Students were very engaged during the whole process and once completed, students then had time to expand on their design and stem activities.
