National Simultaneous Story Time

What a fabulous national event this is! Junior classes watched Josh Pyke and Ronojoy Ghosh read “Family Tree” live from the National Library of Australia in Canberra yesterday at 9.00am.

Our students joined 2,186,347 other people from around the country and the world to hear Josh Pyke read the story and Ronojoy Ghosh talk about illustrations. Josh Pyke believes the illustrations bring depth and empathy to his written words, whilst Ronojoy Ghosh spoke about how when he reads he sees the words in his mind's eye and from this he begins to illustrate. Such wonderful insights for our children to hear.

As I walked around the Early Childhood Centre and Junior School yesterday watching students engage in this activity I was reminded of what fabulous teachers we have in Junior School and how they are always so in tune to giving students wonderful, meaningful experiences!

Yours in reading,
