From the Head of Year Nine

The Year Nine cohort was lucky enough to have the Elevate Group deliver a 'Study Skills Kick Start' seminar yesterday. The sessions were run online and we had Pia and David presenting, both very engaging young people. They delivered on topics such as note taking, dynamic reading, how to effectively brainstorm. The students went through a variety activities and many discovered new ways of prioritising information that gets delivered in large chunks. Some quotes from the session:

“It was really fun and engaging”.

“I found new ways of taking notes that I didn’t know before”.

“I learnt that I don’t have to read the whole thing to get the important information”.

“Using colours and associating information to objects is an effective way to study”.

The students were most grateful for the opportunity to have first class presenters delivering a session to them.
