  • Chair of Finance: Mrs Fran Leary
  • Council Representative of Building and Grounds: Mr Simon Thomas

Other members of School Council are Mr Ian Clarke, Mrs Anne Hey and Mrs Kylie Smith.

At the AGM, Mr Cameron Clifford advised the School Council of his resignation from School Council after six years’ service.  Cameron has been instrumental in providing valuable support in the areas of child safety, building and grounds and strategic planning.  As a Council Member Cameron has been visual at school events as well as addressing students on issues from cyber safety to self-safety. I thank Cameron for his contribution to the School.

Principal’s Leave

As you are aware, my professional renewal leave begins next week. Could I wish the following staff members my best wishes in their important acting roles:

Acting Principal: Mrs Emma Franklin

Acting Deputy Principal: Mr Adam Scott

Acting Head of Middle School: Ms Angelina Ross

I look forward to seeing all of you on my return at the start of Term Three and I wish you all the best for the remainder of Term Two.

COVID Update

This week the overall student and staff attendance numbers have risen in comparison to previous weeks. This is great news for everyone. Classes are nearing regular numbers and students returning are attempting to catch up on missed learning and assessments. NAPLAN online requirements are continuing to be timetabled.

Students leading

The past two weeks have been weeks of celebration with National Boarding Week, Gifted Awareness Week, National Simultaneous Storytime, and the Wilson House Fundraiser Day.  The students have willingly led these activities, and this results in students being more engaged and more connected to the activity and therefore are more involved.  It is empowering to observe the positive interactions of students and as a school leader, watching students lead one another is all part of the GSG experience.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop will be closed on Monday 30 May. It will reopen as normal on Wednesday 1 June. Apologies for any inconvenience.
