Quest for glory

ACC Champion Schools competition

OUR senior boys and girls teams participated in the ACC Champion Schools football carnival at Kingsway Sporting Club on 9 May. Both teams were grouped with Carmel, Rehoboth, Mercy and Emmanuel Christian schools.

Our boys managed to finish second place in the group and qualifed for the "round of 16'' bracket. The team finished the carnival with two wins, one draw and one loss to eventual group winners Mercy. The boys will need to improve if they want to better last year’s semi-final result. It is always a challenge in knockout football, but it is a challenge the boys are looking forward to.

Our girls team finished in fifth place but they can hold their heads high, as it was a much improved effort on previous years. The team gained a point in a hard-fought game against Carmel to open the carnival. A huge thank you is in order to Mr D’Souza who coached the girls team for the day.

Overall, it is an exciting time for football at the College and hopefully the boys can continue their quest for glory in the round of 16 fixture which will be played early in Term 3.
