Years 7 & 10 immunisation

Consent cards were handed out to parents at last week’s Information Nights and to students though Home Group. After reading the information provided, parents are requested to complete and sign your child’s consent card REGARDLESS OF YOUR CONSENT CHOICE. Please be reminded that these cards are being collected from the office by the immunisation team at City of Boroondara on Wednesday 20 February.

Welcome, Paco

At the end of last year I adopted a dog, Paco. He has a beautiful temperament and will soon begin training with Delta Society Australia, a national not-for-profit organisation with the belief that the human/animal bond can improve our quality of life and leaves a lasting paw print on our hearts.

On the weekends, Paco and I will volunteer our time to visit aged care facilities as part of the program.

With the success of trainee guide dog, Thelma, last year and her interactions with our students, I'm excited to say that Paco will come to school on Tuesdays; I have introduced him to students through Home Group and classrooms. Paco will always be on his lead and won't be wearing his therapy dog bandanna until he starts with Delta in a month or so.

Friday afternoon games club

Preshil secondary students are warmly invited to come and play board games, card games and even role-playing games after school on Friday afternoons. No previous experience is necessary.

Our players have a vast array of interests –some enjoy social, bluffing games, some prefer games with tactics and strategy, some like cooperative games, some favour short games, others expect long ones (even those which require several weeks to complete), some play games they know and others come to discover ones they have never played before.

Games Club is run and supervised by current Years 9 & 11 parent Liam Routt and it is his vast library of games which he very generously makes available for our students’ enjoyment. If you would like to know more, Liam can be contacted at liam@routt.net

Commencing Friday 22 February, we will meet around 3.20pm in the Years 10/11/12 common room (Kalimna) and the last of us will leave by 6pm. No need to book, just turn up and join in the fun!
