Football boot drive

Kimberley Immersion

We are collecting  secondhand football boots of all colours and sizes to donate to the people of the Kimberley. This initiative is in loving memory of Brett Claudius who dedicated his life to football in the North-West. Please drop your boots to Student Ministry before Wednesday, 9 September. St Norbert Students will be delivering these boots to the Kimberley as part of the Immersion to Kununurra in September. Every donation is appreciated. Any queries to Holly Giles or Ms Kyd.

Holly, pictured above with sister Zoe and with more donations yesterday, left today for Broome with her Mum and sister for a touch rugby trip. The family took a stack of boots with them.

"The drive is going great. Mum and I packaged around 55 pairs of boots on Wednesday night to take to Broome on Friday,'' Holly said. "There was also about another 15 boots we could not fit into the bags and now I have a box of boots from Student Services.

"There are also heaps of other football clubs who are collecting at their clubrooms and then dropping off to us closer to the Kimberley immersion.

"We are working with Garnduwa in Broome and Garnduwa and PCYC in Kunnunurra to distribute the boots. We have arranged this as our family is the people who run or are heavily involved in these organisations. Mum, Zoe and myself will be handing the boots over to Mick Albert, the co-ordinator of Garnduwa at 4pm on Friday''.
