A reminder that next Thursday, 3 September, St Norbert College will be holding the Year 7 and New Students Information Evening for all students commencing in 2021. The Information Evening provides families with important information about the transition program to assist current Year 6 students and students in other year groups commencing at St Norbert College next year. Both students and at least one parent/carer are required to attend the evening which commences at 6.00pm in the Fr Peter O’Reilly Centre. After an introduction to the whole group, families will then be split into smaller groups for some more informal presentations and discussion about what students can expect when they commence next year and how they can best prepare for this transition.
Being punctual (on time) is a mark of respect and shows that you are reliable. It means you also value other people’s time. Stress can also be eliminated by removing the anxiety of being late! It is unfortunate that lately a number of students are arriving at school late with no valid reason. If is often just due to a lack of organisation, perhaps going to bed late and therefore not being able to wake up on time.
We understand that there are genuine reasons why a student may be late to school (eg appointments, car issues, traffic), so we ask parents/carers to please contact the College as soon as possible to inform us and to ease our concerns when a child has not arrived.

PUPIL FREE DAY: Thursday 29 October
A reminder to ALL STUDENTS in Years 7-9 that a print out of Subject Selections from SSO need to be submitted to Student Services as soon as possible.
On Friday, 21 August, all staff engaged in a day of professional development on Christian Service. The day began with input from Dr Shane Lavery, co-ordinator of postgraduate studies at Notre Dame University, on the value of Christian Service. Staff and students then shared about the impact of their experiences on immersions run by the College. It was inspiring and captured the spirit of helping others and was an example of our community being “prepared for all good works”.
The intention was for our staff to spend the day at various external agencies doing service, but due to Covid restrictions we needed to be more creative with what we could do. Some activities in the afternoon included cooking for the Emmaus Community, making Norbie Care meals to freeze, making Norbertine cards, crocheting and knitting blankets. It was also an opportunity to make stationery and toiletry packs, rosary beads, felt story packs and to write letters to the aged for the Kimberley Immersion.
The day concluded with a reflective liturgy.
