Term 3, like much of 2020, has been vastly different to others that we have lived through. We have missed seeing the faces of our families on a regular basis and thank you for your understanding and responsibility during this time. We appreciate you supporting our digital assemblies and continued communication through alternative means. Teachers are looking forward to Parent/Teacher interviews as an opportunity to discuss your child's progress.
This term has been a busy one- and the last 3 weeks are no exception! Please make sure to check the date claimers in this newsletter for all of our upcoming events. A new calendar for Term 4 will come out in the first week of next term.
Mrs HB is taking a well-earned break to spend some time with her family. We look forward to welcoming her back for a busy Term 4.
Our Pre-Prep program "Step Up" continues this week in the Administration Building. This program is for all students that will start Prep in 2021. Our current Prep teachers run this 1 hour session to build familiarity with the school & prepare children with this transition. Sessions run from 9am for 1 hour. All 2021 Prep students are welcome to attend. Please feel free to pass this information on to any families that may be interested.
The ‘Learn to Swim’ program provides children with the opportunity to develop water safety and confidence, breathing and stroking. All students will be involved in swimming lessons which will be run at USQ Gatton Campus.
As our school is growing, this year we will run a split program:
-Students in P-2 swimming in week 1-5 (commencing Thursday the 8th of October)
-Students in 3-6 swimming in week 6-10 (commencing Thursday the 12th of November) Students will have longer lessons than in previous years, giving them more time in the pool. While it is anticipated that all children will attend, your written permission is required for your child to be included in the program. A note with all relevant details will come home this week. As swimming is a part of the compulsory school P.E. program, all children are expected to attend each session whether swimming or not (for supervisory purposes). Should you require further information or have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
