              Welcome Back!

A school should always be filled with the noise of children! It has been such a pleasure to return this term and visit classrooms full of students brimming with stories and engaging in learning activities and to wander the playground full of active students socialising, playing and re-connecting with their peers.

In the Wellbeing office, the news from teachers is that students have returned in high spirits, eager to continue on the learning journeys that you, as parents, have so beautifully supported during the long months of remote learning. Jesse and I have been busy over the last two days catching up with students, chatting about the positives of returning to school and listening to the many adventures experienced by families over the holidays.

Whilst the levels of engagement are high, there may still be some concerns with regards to re-engagement and attendance, and we are always available to support families. Please make contact with your teachers if you have concerns and would like contact from the Wellbeing office for support.

One area of note from the return to school the first time around, was the tiredness experienced by students whilst they settled back into the daily routines of home and school life. After so many weeks at home, with shorter school days and more relax time, you may notice that your children are more tired, irritable or less talkative of an evening. This will settle over time however one can never underestimate the power of a good night's sleep to provide children with the get up and go for school every day. It's good for mums and dads too!
