Dads' Camp 2020

Dear Skipps Parents,

By this time of the year, Skipps students and parents are normally getting pretty excited for Spring/Summer and the start of camp season. Unfortunately this is not a normal year. Therefore, we have the sad duty to confirm there will be no Skipps Dads' Camp due to be held over the weekend of 4-6 December. 

For the benefit of new parents to the school, over the last 7 years a small group of dedicated Dads developed a tradition of taking their kids down to the Anglesea Caravan and Camp site for a weekend of activities, food, music, movies and general fun in the sun. The weekend usually took place sometime in November/December. Over the years the camp has grown from a small group of families to almost 350 parents and kids attending the 2019 camp. 

Due to Coronavirus we need to cancel this years camp, however this does not mean the weekend of 4-6 December should be wasted. 2020 will be DIY Dads' Camp. We encourage Dads and carers to plan something fun with their kids over that weekend (small groups may even be allowed by that time), it's also a good opportunity to give your partner a break! It could be a day trip, an overnight stay or even the whole camping weekend away if conditions allow. 

If we can all maintain some form of the tradition in this very abnormal year, we can hopefully get back to normal in 2021 and give the kids something to really look forward to.
