BNPS Environment Team

Every Wednesday afternoon for the past few weeks I have been participating in calls after class with a few other students from year five and six. We have been brainstorming ideas about ways that we can make a difference throughout the environment.

We met with a lady named Sharron Hunter from the Port Phillip Ecocentre that helped us figure out different ways to help. The Bayside Council held the Bayside Climate Summit and then supported Sharon to come and teach us about how the environment is changing.

Apart from looking at ways to help out, we also learnt about the problems the whole world is having with the environment. We learnt that Australia is producing more greenhouse gasses per person, than any other country in the world. (And no, that is not good). We all got very inspired and her being with us definitely helped come up with some ideas, such as Snip To Save. Even if the steps are starting out small, every little bit counts.
